About our club

If your 'main ambition' in cycling is to compete in races, crits, or time trials -then we may not be for you.
However - if thats your ultimate aim; and you want to take the next step up from being a recreational cyclist then we could have something to offer.

Our priority is sociability. For us cycling is as much about friendship and enjoying the ride than anything else.
We offer a range of rides for all:-
Saturday Club rides throughout the year
Tuesdays Grimper (Climbing) rides throughout the year.
Weds Evenings Social rides in the summer 6pm from May to the end of September
Other informal rides throughout the week arranged by members on our 'WhatsApp' Club facility.
The club also arranges a yearly overseas excursions to Mallorca/Gran Canaria, take part in sportives, mini tours, and other adventure days out in the saddle.
We encourage riders to take part in at least once charity ride per year and we annually raise money for a local charity.
Visiting various coffee stops for refuelling is usual for the longer rides, with late breakfasts for winter rides.
In the summer months we often finish off with some fermented barley, hops or grapes- if you get my drift

As a Club we are totally inclusive with an annual subscription of £15 per year.
We do however require that all members join British Cycling to ensure adequate 3rd party Insurance cover.

Our main cycling group is based in East Yorkshire however we have a North West Chapter in Lymm (Cheshire) and members in Wales and London. We have international links with the US Mules based in Houston Texas and Colorado.
Members from both countries often travel to take part in the same events.
We have our own blog called 'Travels with my Mule' which can be found at
philipshrimpton.blogspot.com

Many riders delay or put off joining a club because they think that they might not keep up, that is rarely the case. If your still not sure drop us a line and we can chat it through.
