About our club

We pride ourselves on being a fun, friendly and inclusive cycling club, and are working hard to promote diversity and inclusion, aiming for the club membership base to reflect the characteristics of our local community in Oxford. As an example, over 35% of our members are female. We run regular club rides on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends, with rides usually departing from Beeline Bikes, Cowley Road. Week-night rides are usually divided into social, medium and fast paced groups. The social rides are a great opportunity to build up the miles at a relaxed pace, whereas the fast rides and Thursday night chain gangs are a real challenge to even the strongest riders. Any club rider can lead a ride and we have a strict no dropping policy!

Members are active in the local road racing and scene, with both our men's and women's teams competing in the Oxfordshire Road Race League each year. The club has a strong involvement in further cycling disciplines, including hosting monthly time-trials in the spring and summer, and participating in cyclo-cross in winter.

Because we were all beginners once, the club is incredibly supportive of new members. And friendliness is an ethos that runs right through the club, which encompasses a wide variety of abilities, from those just getting into cycling following an 'exercise hiatus', right through to competitive racers and those getting in 5,000+ miles per year.
