About our club
We have 21 senior members, male and female. Our active riding members are nearly all of pension age and over and have been cyclists most of their lives. A normal turnout for our Sunday morning rides will be 6 (male) although can be more in the summer. Typically we do around 65 miles to the north and east of Leeds, usually with a café stop and varying our meeting point dependant on expected participants.
A significant number of our members have either joined or retained their long standing membership to pursue their cycling with the reassurance of BC Membership and benefits.
We no longer have any current racing members but are active in organising youth events, through our member Peter Sutton (ex Yorkshire Events Secretary) and occasionally help out by marshalling events and timekeeping in local Time Trials.
We never ignore any membership requests but have to be honest with regard to our age profile and very narrow and limited activities. We always recommend other local clubs who we know cater for the full range of cycling and age groups.
