About our club

Welcome to The Halifax Imperial Wheelers, this year we celebrate our 100th year of Cycling. We are a friendly bunch who enjoy getting out on our bikes and having fun with like-minded people. Thursday Night Social Ride (no drop, all year round)
Meet at MAMIL, Commercial Street, Halifax at 19:30 for a departure at approx. 19:45. The ride is approximately 15 to 25 miles and finishes at a different local pub each week (notified in advance). There are usually 2 groups (depending on the number of attendees, if there is a low turnout then we merge into one group and ride at the slowest riders pace)
o (1) slightly faster pace approx. 12mph
o (2) leisurely approx. 10mph
Sunday (Ad Hoc)
Social Ride (no drop) no set agenda with rides organised by members during the week leading up to the Sunday in question meet at MAMIL, Commercial Street, Halifax at 08:45 meet with a 09:00 departure or 08:00 meet with a 08:15 departure, distance can be between 40 and 100 miles, details published in advance.
Sunday Training Ride (no drop/wait on top of hills)
Meeting up at MAMIL, BRIGHOUSE at 08:30, usually 60 miles+ with café stop, Route chosen on day. This is a faster paced ride of 15/16mph plus (Average mph)
CHAINGANG - Tuesday or Wednesday (approx.. April-July)
Details TBC - Meet on Burnley Road outside Pollino’s Italian Restaurant at either 18:00 or 18:30 from Mid-April until Mid-July; Route heads down the valley on Burnley Road and return
Wednesday Ride 10am - For those who are retired or able to get out during the week there is a weekly run on Wednesday which starts at 10:00 from Shelf roundabout.
We have a Monthly Meeting which starts at 20:00 on the First Friday of the Month at The Cross Keys, Whitegate Road, Siddal, Halifax, HX3 9AE
