About our club

We are principally a time-trialling club which was founded in 1928. Through the season from April to September we run a programme of 10,25 and 50 mile TT's for local members including a club open event in late July which also attracts nationwide participation. A recent innovation over the past four years has been our ITT and 3-up TTT at Mallory Park which have proved particularly popular as they allows riders to race on a closed circuit. In 2023 we have had a highly successful season with an influx of highly competitive women members, who are mainly triathletes and have been using our TT's for their bike training. We were able to run a full programme of events and for the first time we held a road bike only Rugby Flyer event in memory of Ralph Dougherty, a club member who in 1939 became the first man in Britain to go under the hour for 25 miles. Despite innovations in bike technology only three riders were able to match his achievement in 2023. We now intend to hold this as an annual event.
We would particularly welcome new junior members and have appointed a trained Club welfare officer to ensure their safeguarding.
