British Cycling has settled a claim for third party property damage on behalf of a Ride member in relation to an incident which occurred in March 2013 when he rode into the rear of a stationary vehicle.

Our member was riding along the road low down in his drops due a strong headwind.  As a result he did not see a stationary vehicle ahead until it was too late and rode into the back of it.

Liability for the accident was admitted by our member.  As part of his membership he had the benefit of British Cycling’s third party (public) liability insurance cover and the claim made against him for damage to the vehicle and car hire has been settled on his behalf in the sum of £4,050.58 by British Cycling.

Further information regarding legal and insurance benefits currently available to British Cycling members can be found on our website.
