Member Stories - Incident during time-trial

British Cycling member, Gary Kondor, has successfully recovered damages in relation to a road traffic accident, which occurred on 10 October 2010, as he was cycling along the A1133.

As Gary was travelling on his bicycle the A1133, whilst taking part in a tandem time trial, he approached the junction of Sandy Lane to his left and the Defendant motorcyclist, came from behind and collided with the rear of his bicycle. As a result of the impact, Gary was thrown from his bicycle and sustained personal injury, damage to his bicycle and other consequential losses.

Liability for the accident was admitted by the Defendant. Gary received compensation for his personal injury and the damage to his bicycle.

Gary, was represented by Tamsin Keogh in Leigh Day and Co.’s Cycling and Sports Injuries Team and his claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
