Third party claim for damages settled by British Cycling when one of its members lost control of their bike on a bend

Share |

British Cycling has settled a claim for third party property damage on behalf of a Ride member in relation to an incident which occurred in May 2012.

Our member was riding down a hill which had a bend at the bottom. Unfortunately, our member lost control of his bike on the bend and collided with a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle claimed the cost of repairs to his vehicle from our member. Our member reported the incident to British Cycling’s Accident Helpline and British Cycling dealt with the claim on his behalf.

Liability for the accident was admitted by our member. As part of his membership he had the benefit of British Cycling’s third party (public) liability insurance cover and the claim made against him has been settled in the sum of £612.00 by British Cycling.

If you have any queries regarding your membership with British Cycling please contact our Membership Services Team on 0161 274 2010.
