British Cycling member Anne White has successfully recovered damages in relation to a road traffic accident, which occurred on 4 April 2008, as she was cycling along Grove Green Road.

As Anne was travelling on her bicycle through temporary traffic lights at road works at the junction of Grove Green Road and Castle Road, the third party overtook Anne as she was riding through the junction and immediately turned left across Anne’s path and hit her front wheel, causing Anne to be thrown from her bicycle.

As a result of the impact Anne was thrown from her bicycle and sustained personal injury, damage to her bicycle and other consequential losses.

Liability for the accident was admitted by the defendant. Anne received compensation for her personal injury.

Anne was represented by Tamsin Keogh in Leigh Day and C.’s Cycling and Sports Injuries Team and her claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
