British Cycling settles claim made against one of its members following a rear end collision

Share |

British Cycling has settled a claim for property damage on behalf of a Ride member in relation to a road traffic accident which occurred in July 2011.

Our member was cycling around Regents Park when he collided with the rear of a parked car. As a result of the accident, the car driver claimed against our member for the damage caused to the rear of his car and for loss of use of the vehicle whilst it was off the road being repaired.

Liability for the accident was admitted. As part of his membership our member had the benefit of British Cycling’s third party (public) liability insurance cover and the claim made against him has been settled on his behalf in the sum of £3,055.00 by British Cycling and its insurers.
