At Norwich BMX John Lillingstone (Ipswich BMX Club) took the climactic last race, the Male 17+ Final, by the tiniest of margins from Alan Hill (Norwich Flyers) and so clinched the overall class win.

Ipswich’s Robbie Goodman led from the gate, but Hill came though on the first berm only to find Lillingstone coming alongside. “It was a drag lane to the line,” said world veterans champion Hill who missed out by an inch.

Norwich Flyers BMX club hosted this fourth round of the East Regional BMX Winter Series in good weather - indeed sunshine was a welcome addition to the second half of the proceedings. The long Sloughbottom Park track, largely financed by Barclays Spaces for Sport and Norwich City Council, had been brought into fine condition by Flyers members.

The Female 14-16 races saw a series of neck and neck battles between Kelsey Dixon (Braintree Bullets) and Amy Morris (Peterborough BMX) with Dixon coming out on top with four wins.

Riders winning all their motos and their final included Morgan Dorrell and sister Eden Dorrell (both Norwich Flyers) Brandon Fermor (Royston Rockets), Shane Redgewell (Braintree) and Lee Carrick (Nottingham)
