To celebrate the UK’s first national event using the eight metre Supercross start hill at the National Indoor BMX Centre, invites have been sent to Europe’s top riders to attend Open Supercross races on each Saturday evening from 7pm until 9pm for the opening three rounds of the series on the 14 January, 18 February and 24 March.

National teams from Belgium, The Netherlands and Norway have already confirmed that they will be lining up alongside the UK’s top male and female riders, Liam Phillips and Shanaze Reade.

Ultimate Pro BMX and Edwardes are the headline sponsors and will be putting up the £1,500 in prize money for each race.

Pete Phillips, from Ultimate Pro BMX, explained why they were supporting these events: “Ultimate Pro BMX (Championship Class Team) wanted to be involved with this series of races because it’s unique and ambitious. This is the first indoor Supercross training centre of its kind and the eyes of the BMX world will be waiting to see footage of this race. So for us and Ultimate BMX Parts/Crupi we could not miss this chance of making a bit of BMX history.”

Carole Gosling from Edwardes, stated: “We are really please to see BMX Racing grow and adapt into an Olympic discipline. Edwardes have been in BMX since the start, so it’s our 30th year in BMX and we are proud to say, our 104th year in the cycle industry.”
