The penultimate meeting of the HSBC UK | BMX National Series sees riders travel to Braintree, Essex for rounds nine and 10 this weekend.

A hotly contested series to date has seen multiple winners with the overall series honours still up for grabs with four rounds to go.

How the series works

Riders are rewarded points based on their results in each round (up to maximum of 100 points per round). A rider’s best seven results from the 12 rounds in the series makes up their total. The rider with the highest total in their respective category is crowned HSBC UK | BMX National Series champion.

Superclass

Curtis Manaton at the HSBC UK | BMX National Series

Kye Whyte and Curtis Manaton occupy the first and second spots respectively in the overall standings but at the time of writing Whyte is not set to start in Essex.

Manaton has been in wonderful form, winning five of the six rounds he has raced with Whyte’s two wins at the opening races in Manchester backed up by consistent performances in the following six rounds.

Whyte’s absence will hand a huge chance to Manaton but also third-place Billy Luckhurst - the Runnymede Rockets rider has made the main final at each round so far and sits 80 points off Whyte in the rankings.

Calum Strickland will be full of confidence after winning round seven ahead of Manaton at Platt Fields in Manchester.
