British Cycling has named the team who will represent Great Britain at the UEC BMX European Championships taking place from 8 – 10 July in Verona, Italy.

Beth Shriever, who won the silver medal in the junior time trial event at this year’s BMX world championships, has made selection as has Tre Whyte who won the bronze medal at the 2014 world championships and Quillan Isidore who was crowned as the under-16 boys world champion in 2012.

Paddy Sharrock has also been selected having recently recovered from injury and they are joined by their senior and junior academy team mates to complete the squad of eight riders.

Great Britain Cycling Team’s BMX coach Grant White said: “The team we have selected for Verona is currently in good shape and we have some strong medal contenders across the age groups.

“Beth Shriever went into the BMX World Championships in great form and was unfortunate to crash in the finals so it will be good to see how she gets on against a similar field at the Europeans and I’m glad to see Paddy racing again after recovering from recent injury.

“I’m pleased Tre is on the team - as well as putting in a good performance on race day I’ll be looking to him to set a professional example to the junior riders who will be able to learn from his preparations and approach on race day in order to aid their own development.”
