The Championships Organising Committee is pleased to announce that the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) have awarded the organisation of the UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships for 2014 to 2016 to cyclingmasters, the current organisation, with the events scheduled to be held at Manchester's National Cycling Centre.

This agreement will be a continuation of the existing one for 2011 to 2013 which is intended to increase the participation in the event and attract many more riders from around the world to Manchester for this prestigious Masters event. The signs are already looking excellent for the 2012 championships with South Africa recently announcing a squad of 33 riders taking part.

Individual entries are beginning to arrive on line via the event web site www.cyclingmasters.com and ticket sales are already happening for this years championships which take place in Manchester from 7-14 October.

The 2011 event attracted over 400 entries from 26 countries and the organisation is expecting this to increase this year to around 500 from more than 30 countries. In order to arrange a balanced programme the number of days of competition has been increased from six in 2011 to eight this year with a ninth day on Saturday 6 October as a training day.

The Manchester Velodrome is regarded by many competitors as the home of the event with the initial event held there in 1995 and every year until 2007 when they were awarded to Sydney, Australia for three years and to Portugal in 2010 for one year.
