Event: 9 and 10 June 2012
The Meadowbank Grand Prix will be held on the 9th and 10th June at the Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh after the threatened closure of the Meadowbank Velodrome was prevented by a partnership agreement between the City of Edinburgh Council and the officials of East of Scotland Track Promoters Association (ESTPA).
Saturday 9 June includes the 41st Meadowbank Grand Prix (British Endurance League 10 miles), and the Grand Prix of Edinburgh International Sprint (British Sprint League), a Women's Sprint Omnium on Saturday 9 June, a Veterans Handicap, and supporting events.
Sunday 10 June includes the British Women's Omnium League match, a four event Sprint Omnium for the top sprinters, the Derny Derby for the top Endurance riders, the Edinburgh 500 Open Handicap, and supporting events.
Entries have already been received from the top British riders and from international riders and teams from Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Spain for the Grand Prix events and the grandstand is now safe and ready to take the expected crowd of spectators at Edinburgh's major cycling event which is sponsored by the City Council. There will be refreshments available at the track Bistro.
Entries close on the 1 June and riders can enter online at the British Cycling website.
