The BBC website has reported on a call from the influential Association of British Insurers (ABI) for more cyclists to be aware of the need for comprehensive legal and insurance cover.
The article highlights the case of a cyclist without cover who suffered long-term financial problems after a collision with a van. It also pointed out the potential liability costs if you cause an accident whilst cycling.
The article alone makes interesting reading, but it has also attracted a wide variety of comment.
British Cycling’s Ride, Gold and Silver membership packages all include insurance and legal advice cover.
