Paracyclist Neil Fachie is one of four nominees in this year’s Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Sport Award.

Fachie was in fine form at this year's World Championships

Earlier this year Neil defended both of his World Championship jerseys in the sprint and kilo, while breaking his own flying 200m world record in the process at the Paracycling World Championships in Montichiari, Italy.

The awards take place annually and are designed to give the public a unique opportunity to vote for those individuals who have exceeded all expectations in their chosen field. It is hoped the awards can highlight great achievements across Scotland’s rich cultural spectrum, and this year the categories being voted for include Food, Music, The Entertainment, Screen, Art, Business, Writing and Sport.

Previous winners of the Sport Award include endurance cyclist Mark Beaumont, Andy Murray, Colin Montgomery, Sir Alex Ferguson and British Cycling’s own Sir Chris Hoy.

The awards will be held in Edinburgh on the 29 November and voting can be done via the Glenfiddich website- www.glenfiddich.co.uk/news-events/glenfiddich-spirit-of-scotland-awards/sport.html.
