Applications open for National Schools of Racing - Track

29th June 2011

Applications invited for Madison and Sprint specific National Schools of Racing in four venues across the country

Madison

As part of the Olympic Talent Programme track week, two madison-specific National Schools of Racing will be held at two venues. The first is to be held at the Scunthorpe track on 1st August and the second to be held at Reading track on 3rd August.

With the National Track Championships just around the corner there is no better way to top up on your bunch riding, track awareness, skills, speed and endurance than with a day of Madison coaching.

The aim of these sessions is to improve Madison skills and tactical awareness making you a better all round bike rider, also giving you the confidence and ability to be able to race the National Madison Championships in October.

Sprint

Is your hero Sir Chris Hoy? Do you want to be the next Victoria Pendleton MBE? Then check this out!

Working in conjunction with the Olympic Development Sprint programme, the Talent Development team are running two brand new sprint themed National Schools of Racing for the North and South of England.

The sessions are running at Newcastle-Under-Lyme track on Tuesday 2nd August and the new Bournemouth track on Thursday 4th August.

This is a fantastic opportunity for riders out there to learn more about the sprint based track disciplines and go out and apply these skills to racing. With the national championships on their way in August these sessions are also a great way to learn the skills you need in the competition.

Across the day, riders will have the chance to learn and build on track sprint skills, including core skills off the track and roller based drills.

Along with the Talent Development coaches, the opportunity sees prolific volunteer sprint coaches and ex sprint stars from across the country supporting the sessions, creating a top class learning environment for riders to learn all things sprint based, and be inspired to go out and do more sprint based competition at regional and National level.
