Event: 4 August 2013
Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Solihull, West Midlands

Entries are now open for a new sportive and leisure ride around the Warwickshire lanes on 4 August. Set up to honour Olympic medallist and cycling legend Tommy Godwin, all the profits will be used to fund the new Marie Curie hospice in Solihull.

Fully supported by Tommy’s family, there is a sportive of 80k (50 miles) with chip timing and feed station and a leisure, or family ride, of 25k (16 miles) with a special family entry fee. Entries from women are actively encouraged and our local British Cycling Breeze Champions will be out in force to support them.

Leaving the hospice in Solihull the routes pass through the villages of Barston, Fen End and Chadwick End, where the leisure ride returns via Dorridge and Four Ashes, then Wooten Wawen, Great Alne, Coughton Court, Sambourne, Studley, Studley Castle, Ullenhall, Tamworth in Arden and Earlswood. While the sportive is undulating, the leisure ride is almost flat.
