Event 5 May 2013

If you're still waiting on entering the Tour of the National Forest Sportive you will have to be fast, as entries are coming in thick and fast with a number of riders looking to take on the challenging route through the East Midlands hills.

The event on May 5 is being organised by Loughborough Students Cycling Club who aim to change your view of the east-midlands as a cycling destination and ensure you leave with nothing but praise for the challenging route which winds its way through the picturesque country lanes that criss-cross the National Forest area.

As a club with a long and rich history we aim to make sure you leave with a desire to return in the future, either for the excellent riding, the top quality cakes, the smiling faces of the volunteers along the route or even for that free photograph of you doing your best not to pull a face up that last hill.

With three rides of varying length (160, 100 and 45 km) available riders of all abilities will find something to suit. The routes will be fully signposted, and to ensure there are no problems a detailed route map will be provided to all competitors.

In addition to ensuring you safely make it round the route there will be a number of feed stations on along each route as well as free mechanical support if you’re unlucky enough to need it. All finishers will receive a goodie bag including a free t-shirt as well as post ride food in the brand new Loughborough University Stadium.
