Event: 23 September 2012
Location: Walton-on-the-Hill, Surrey

Places are still available for Ibbo's Cake Quest sportive in Surrey at the end of this month. The event takes riders on some of the most picturesque roads of the North Downs and most popular cycling roads in the South East.

Starting and finishing in Walton-on-the-Hill (near Box Hill) there are three routes to chose from; the 60km Jaffa cake, the popular 110km Carrot Cake and challenging 150km Fruit cake route. As the names suggest there's another focus of this day - Cake.

Coffee and Cake was as much a part of John Ibbotson's cycling career as was his bike and the event takes this as seriously as the riding. Ibbo died suddenly in 2005 of arythmagenic right ventricular dysplasia and the fund was set up in his name to send young riders abroad to race. The Cake Quest is the Ibbo Fund's biggest fund raiser and uses the roads he used to train on.

The event has electronic timing (DBMax), feed stations, full signage, photography (sportivephoto.com), marshals and technical support. Riders can start their ride any time between 8-9am after signing on at the HQ in Walton-on-the-Hill. Entry is £20.
