Bike Factory continue long-running support of Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool ride

Pennine Events, organisers of the Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool Bike Ride, have proudly announced that The Bike Factory will once again provide mechanical support for the mass participation event.

Now in its 19th year, the Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool Bike Ride will take place on the 8th July 2012. The event is expected to attract 3,000 entrants and offers participants the rare opportunity to cycle through the Mersey Tunnel, usually strictly off-limits to cyclists.

Riders have a choice of five routes, with the Wirral Circular, Chester-Liverpool, Liverpool-Chester routes all being 25 miles. The Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool route is 50 miles and the Liverpool Challenge, taking on Delamere Forest, is a challenging 90 miles.

The Bike Factory has been associated with Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool Bike Ride since its inaugural event in 1994 and is celebrating its 100th year as a bike shop this year. The Bike Factory will offer friendly, helpful roadside assistance at key positions through the sportive, like the Mersey Tunnel, and the Wirral and Chester stop-off points.

Sales Director of The Bike Factory, Dave Parry, said: “We’ve always been very happy to support Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool as we’ve found this to be one of the best rides around the Wirral, Chester and North Wales area.”

He continued: “We’ve also noticed that in the past five years the number of people riding bikes has risen dramatically and we feel it’s important to support and represent events such as this within our local community.”

The Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool is organised by local company Pennine Events. Founded in 2002, Pennine Events have established themselves as a premium events company. With over 60 years collective events experience, the team specialises in delivering high-quality mass-participation events, such as the multi-award winning Pedal for Scotland, Daily Mirror Great Manchester Cycle, Bradford City Run, Under and Over the Mersey, The Great Notts Bike Ride, as well as crowd management at the 2007 Tour de France.
