British Cycling members can look forward to getting off to a great start at the Daily Mirror Great Manchester Cycle, with an exclusive start zone ahead of other riders.
The initiative will be in effect across all distances, and will mean that British Cycling members are guaranteed the best start possible in the event, which is taking place on Bank Holiday, 4 June. Members will be identified by a British Cycling logo on their event numbers. The multi-distance event will enable access to roads normally strictly off limits to cyclists, including a stretch of Manchester’s busiest motorway - the iconic Mancunian way.
With the National Cycling Centre in Manchester being the headquarters of British Cycling, the event will truly be taking place on their home turf. It is the perfect chance for British Cycling to thank their members by providing an added bit of value to an already unbelievable deal – an entry fee of just £10.
The £10 entry fee not only gains admission to the closed road mass participation event, but you will also be given accurate chip timing, a Great Manchester Cycle t-shirt, a medal and a finishers pack.
The event will feature three different distances based around a 13-mile closed road loop designed to cater for all abilities, from club cyclists, to families who wish to take in the sights of the city on a ride together. There's Get Out and Pedal over 13 miles, Rule the Roads over 26 miles, or for the more established riders Test Yourself over 52 miles. For a limited time all categories will cost just £10 for adults and £5 for kids. Children aged 3-7 go for free.

Part of a ‘Great’ festival of sport in Manchester this summer, the Great Manchester Cycle will join a full programme that includes the UK’s most popular 10k, the Bupa Great Manchester Run and the British Gas Great Manchester Swim.
