The Dartmoor Classic sportive is now open for entries and has recorded its best ever start, with 1800 places being filled within the first week.

“We had over a thousand registrations in the opening 48 hours and currently we’re getting in excess of a hundred hits a day. At this rate, the event could be sold out well before Christmas, which would be a new record,” said chief organiser Ken Robertson.

Amongst some of the more further afield early entries are ones from riders representing Ecuador, Egypt and Uruguay, while several participants from mainland European countries are, once again, in the international mix. The UCI sanctioned fixture is a Mid-Devon CC promotion which will take place on Sunday 24 June 2012. Full details can be found at www.dartmoorclassic.co.uk.
