Road: Grant comes good at the double

Winner of the 50-mile championship three weeks earlier, Iain Grant (Dooleys CRT) added the Scottish 25-mile time trial title in a tight finish on the Blairdrummond course in Stirling.

The 41-year-old, from Glasgow, clocked 52:26 for a winning margin of just six seconds over Silas Goldsworthy, who led Sandy Wallace Cycles to the team title with third-placed Alan Thomson, 53:09, and Steve Nutley, 55:25, in support.

Christine McLean (Shetland Wheelers) reversed 50-mile form with Sian Tovey (Dooleys CRT) to take the women’s title in 59:30.
