White Wins Kenneth Lush Memorial

Panshanger Circuit, Hertfordshire, 82 miles
Promoted by: North Road CC
Event: 26th June 2011
Report: Snowdon Sports

CYCLE Premier-Metaltek's Jason White proved strongest in a seven-up sprint finish to the Kenneth Lush Memorial Road Race in Hertfordshire on Sunday, staged over the Panshanger circuit yesterday and covering 82 miles.

A group of ten riders went clear on the opening lap of the 8-mile circuit, and it proved to be the decisive move of the race which stayed clear until the end.

As the miles went by the leading group was whittled down as the strong men forged ahead and just seven headed into the final circuit.

With 300 yards to go to the line, White had powered clear of his breakaway rivals, giving them a clear signal of his strength and allowing him to cross the line around five seconds clear, with East London Velo's David Barnes taking second from Adam Bright (Revo Racing).
