Cumbria rider Jack Sadler took victory in the 2/3/4 race at Bury Clarion Circuit Races, staged at the Salt Ayre Sports Centre in Lancaster on Saturday.
The 18-year-old from Ulverston, who won a stage of the Junior Tour of Ireland last season, showed his promise as a senior rider when he took the win ahead of Cheshire 19-year-old Tom Bracegirdle (Biketreks) and Richard Bickley, the 30-year-old Border City Wheelers rider.
The supporting fourth category race was won by Bronte Wheelers’ Matthew Pearce, 38 and from Oakworth near Bradford, while Wigan 22-year-old Joshua Vincent was second and Andrew Butler (Lune RCC) third.
And fastest in the women’s event was Abergavenny RC’s Lauren Brown, who held off Biketreks duo Heather Bamford and Nicola Fox, second and third respectively.
