Alex Peters (Madison-Genesis) opened his account for the season with a flourish as he rode clear to a superb solo victory in Norwood Paragon CC’s 85-mile Len Ingman Memorial event on the Bletchingley circuit in Surrey.

A full field set out to cover ten and a half laps of a hilly circuit that climbed the North Downs each lap, and Peters attacked mid- race along with Chris McNamara (Pedal Heaven RT) before drawing away from his rival after a lap together and continuing alone to the finish.

Peters crossed the line 1-47 clear of Ben Stockdale (Metaltek-Knights of Old RT), whose team-mate Matt Pilkington secured third place a further two minutes back in a sprint with McNamara.

Result:

1 Alex Peters (Madison-Genesis) 3-41-06
2 Ben Stockdale (Metaltek-Knights of Old RT) at 1-47
3 Matt Pilkington (Metaltek-Knights of Old RT) at 3-49
