Report: Snowdon Sports

Following up his victory in North Yorkshire a week earlier, in-form Matt Cronshaw (Node4 Giordana Racing) rode away to a decisive solo win in the 13th round of the CDNW League on the Dolphinholme circuit on Sunday.

The 23-year-old, from Carnforth, was around a minute and a half clear at the line after dropping his breakaway companions on the final lap in tough, windy conditions.

Sam Jackson (Vanillabikes.com) launched the first telling attack of the race and was joined by Cronshaw, Mike Northey (Node4 Giordana Racing) and Liam Holohan (Team Raleigh GAC) in the move that shaped the final outcome.

Jackson dropped back, but the other three stayed clear of the chasers and worked well together until Cronshaw, who had already put in one unsuccessful dig on the climb approaching the last lap, attacked again and pulled away with Northey discouraging any reaction.

Holohan had the consolation of taking second place with David Clarke completing a good day for the Node4 squad by leading the rest home in fourth place.
