Road: McGuinness is good for Clieves Hill win

WELSH champion Gareth McGuinness (Energy Cycles) rode the rest of the field off his wheel for a superb solo victory the 90-km Clieves Hill Road race on Sunday morning.

The 43-year-old Caernarfon veteran powered his way up the finishing climb to cross the line 19 seconds clear of second-placed Lee Baldwin (Buxton CC) with Leigh Cowell (Kuota-Spinergy) two seconds further back in third after 14 laps of the Clieves Hill circuit in Lancashire.
