Northants CRA Late Spring Handicap Series
Location: Old, Northamptonshire
Event: 7 April 2012
Report: Snowdon Sports

The opening round of the Northants CRA’s Late Spring Handicap Series was a triumph for the handicapper but a nightmare for the judges, ending in a 29-up sprint which went to Northampton’s Richard Jones (Numplumz Mountain Bikers).

Second in the closing round of the first Spring Series a week earlier, Jones made no mistake this time as he came through from the scratch group to edge out 45 Road Club pair George Fox – continuing a good Easter weekend after clocking a club record 20-03 in City RC Hull’s Good Friday 10-mile time trial – and Kev Hardwick after three laps of the 10-mile Old-Lamport circuit.

Results:

1 Richard Jones (Numplumz Mountain Bikers) 1:15:38
2 George Fox (45 Road Club)
3 Kev Hardwick (45 Road Club)
4 Joe Clarke (Fenland Clarion CC)
5 Scott McCann (Arbis/Roy Pink Cycles)
6 Blair Adams (Kettering CC)
7 Nick Horder (Welland Valley CC)
8 Mark Warren (Fenland Clarion CC)
9 Richard Ellingworth (Witham Wheelers)
10 Jaap Flikweert (Fenland Clarion CC)
