The 2012 line-up for Team Corley Cycles-Blue, met last week at Willen Hospice, to confirm their plans for the new season and celebrate five race wins already in the new year for the Milton Keynes based team.

The new season sees a number of changes for one of the more established names in the British peloton. Some of the named riders who were with Team Corley last year have moved on in 2012 but Phil Corley, team manager, is very pleased with their main signing for the new campaign.

“We’ve got the 2011 U23 National Crit champion Matt Jones riding for us this year. He’s a real talent and is very motivated to be riding with us. He’s already had some great results getting second at the Seven Bridge RR but topped that recently winning at the Wally Gimber. With consistency like that it’s not unreasonable to see him up there in the Premier races this season” Corley said.

Jones is as pleased to be joining what to him is very much his local team. “After a difficult year last year I’m over the moon to have the opportunity to race for Team Corley Cycles – Blue.”

“My aim for the year is to have a strong season and to showcase the team as much as possible riding the Premiers and as many top Elite crits as we can.”

With Roy Chamberlain added to the experience of Richard Cartland and Ian Knight in support. The team will continue to be well represented in all categories at local, regional and national races and at all levels with LVRC Chairman Don Parry again being included in the fully supported Team Corley line up.

However, Team Corley are not only concentrating their efforts on the experienced end of the race calendar. They will again be supporting a small but highly motivated group of younger riders who’ll be looked after by local rider Sean Dines.

The team have previously run a development squad for local youngsters that proved to be very successful. One such rider to have come up through the Team Corley supported ranks is Jake Hales who will be riding for a UCI Continental outfit in 2012.

The development team line-up includes 15 year old Ben Chapman who is already a member of the Team GB Olympic Development squad.
