Team Corley Cycles has confirmed the signing of 2011 national under 23 circuit race champion Matt Jones as the squad looks to strengthen ahead of the 2012 road season.

Jones will ride alongside Roy Chamberlain (above)

In addition to his Circuit Race championship win, where he finished sixth overall, Jones’ results include a win at the Glendene Summer Classic and second place in the Central Regional Championships – behind Team Corley Cycles stalwart Roy Chamberlain.

Team Owner Phil Corley said: “Matt’s a great rider, and based in Milton Keynes as well! It would be wrong of us not to let such a talent have a ride in the team in 2012. He’s trained with and raced against our guys all year and gets on well with them. He’ll be a superb addition to both our road and circuit racing plans.

“We’re still in talks with a couple of other riders but even if we didn’t sign anyone else I think we’re looking pretty strong. We’ve still got the evergreen Mr Roy, Richard Cartland and Ashley Cox who are always there or thereabouts in the Premiers.

“And adding in Mike Smith’s crit speed as well, together with Matt I reckon we can expect quite a few results from those two as well in the Circuit racing series.”

Jones joins Team Corley form Team Raleigh.
