Team Jewson-MI racing's Rob Yeatman claimed the Paracycling National Championship jersey and the gold medal at Stourport. The C5 category junior rode an impressive ride to take the title from such names as Simon Richardson (Bigmaggys.com) and Jon-Allan Butterworth(Para-T Team). Riding an average 25.38MPH the youngster made light work of the heavy undulating thirteen mile course around the Great Witley / Astley circuit which is a version of the Astley road race circuit and had to be approved on Thursday evening because of road works on the original planned K22/14 course.

We spoke to Rob after the medal presentation

"That was an excellent win, I was up against guys who are riding for Great Britain like Jody(Cundy). There wasn't any real flats on the course today and it was all up or down, I do prefer the uphills though because I'm pretty light. This is my second race in the disability group, I had a circuit race last week at Darley Moor, in fact it was only a month ago I was classed in the C5 category, I was riding as a Junior in the national series before with the the able bodied athletes, I have the Junior Tour of Wales and the British Time trial Championships coming up very soon and I'm hoping for a top position in those and those are against the able bodied riders. I'm really hoping to be accepted onto the ODP with the Paracycling guys and I don't think today's result will do any harm with that.

In the Rudy Project Series notable wins came from Wouter Sybransky (Sigma Sport-Specialized) in the mens/Espoirs category beating Matther Bottrill (I-ride.co.uk) into second spot by well over a minute and team mate Russell Hampton into third.. In the womens event Michelle King took a second victory of the day for Team Jewson-MI racing beating Herbalife/Wheelbase Lynn Hamel into second spot and Stratford cycling club's Rosie Armitage.
