Team Sky‘s Mark Cavendish and Sky Ride Ambassador Kelly Brook were joined by over 150 cyclists for a fun bike ride around London’s iconic Regents Park.

The exclusive bike ride took place to support Sky Ride, a national campaign from British Cycling and Sky to get a million more people cycling regularly by 2013.

The bike ride saw people of all ages and abilities ride alongside World Champion Mark Cavendish ahead of a summer where everyone will cheer on the nations cycling heroes as well as get out there on their bikes with their friends, family and enjoy a summer of cycling. Participants claimed a place on the exclusive bike ride through Cavendish’s twitter feed, where they were prompted last week by a tweet from Mark to register their interest in taking part in the ride.

Sky Rides are a series of fun, traffic-free rides staged across the UK; either mass participation cycle rides or friendly local rides with trained guides. This year’s Sky Ride builds on the success of the last three years, with British Cycling and Sky’s joint cycling initiatives so far having resulted in almost 700,000 more people cycling regularly (cycling at least once a month or 12 times a year).
