Join them on a ride, 10am, Weds 22 August

The GoLakes Travel programme has undertaken surface improvements to 3km of the bridleway that runs along the western shore of Lake Windermere in the Lake District. The path, which was previously too muddy and difficult to ride for most cyclists, has been drained and has had its surface smoothed out.

This path is a particularly scenic one being next to the lake and the idea is that the surface improvements will encourage more people to get out on their bikes in the Lake District.

In order to celebrate the completion of the surface improvements, which took around 6 weeks, the GoLakes Travel programme are encouraging bikers and cyclists to join them for a ride along the path.

They will be setting off from Bowness on Wednesday, August 22 at 10am and will be getting free travel on the Windermere Ferry. Then they will ride along the improved path to reach Wray Castle where the National Trust are providing refreshments.
