This weekend, August 11th and 12th sees the Schwalbe British 4X Series travel down to Devon for rounds 5 and 6 of the 2012 series. Here's the organiser's preview of the event:

The 2012 Series has been nothing short of amazing with record rider numbers, great racing and fun weekends. 4X continues to deliver great weekends that allow riders to race their bikes all day and families, friends and spectators can view all the action from start to finish.

As if that wasn't enough, this weekend's race has an extra bonus for all those riders wishing to pre enter. You can enter both races for just £45! So to re-iterate, that's 2 full days of racing for just £45 if you pre enter before midnight on Thursday! It's the summer sale and you would be a fool to miss out on that saving! Enter Now

Newly crowned 4X National Champions Scott Beaumont and Katy Curd will be racing this weekend but they will both face stiff opposition.

In the women's category, Suzanne Lacey, Jess Greaves and Cara Murray will all push Katy and will be looking to challenge her during the weekend.

In the men's category, Beaumont will be up against riders like Lewis Lacey, Will Evans, Issac Mundy and Tom Dowie as they look to take the wins this weekend.

The track at SW Extreme is fantastic. Fast and flowing, the track winds down the hillside with a good variety of jumps and a pro line on the final straight for those willing to risk it all. The best thing about the track is that it is really wide and always provides great opportunities for passing.

Camping at the venue will be available from Friday at the cost of £7 per person. With Westwood Hoe beech just 2 miles away, this is the perfect venue to come down, bring the BBQ and have a fun weekend on the track and down the at the beech.
