RWD Brakes have unveiled details of their mountain bike and cyclo-cross race team with seven riders set to compete both domestically and internationally.

The team’s international hopes on the cross-country front will be fronted by Jessica Roberts. The 23-year-old was picked up by the team following her second place position in the 2011 British Championships and will represent the team in three of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup competitions, which will be held in Belgium and France in April, May and July.

Domestically, Roberts will be competing in the British Cycling Mountain Bike Cross Country Series at different venues across the UK and be joined by team mates Thomas Parkin, 16, of Richmond and Henry Sleight, 23, of Banbury. On a regional and local level the team will be represented by Matthew Brown and Andrew Walker, who will both be competing in selected regional level events across the north of England.

The team also revealed it will be firmly focused on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks where Roberts, Parkin and Brown will be joined by Matthew Wilkinson and RWD Brakes Managing Director, James Hall.

“The 3 Peaks is a unique event – there’s nothing else like it,” Hall said. “We’re fielding five riders for this event as we want to support John Rawnsley and the organising team who all do a fantastic job every year.”
