What an unbelievable year it has been for British Cycling!
This time last year we were all looking ahead to a unique summer of sport, with fingers crossed for cycling success in the Olympics and the Tour de France. However, even the most optimistic amongst us would have found it hard to predict the scale of achievement, with Bradley Wiggins’ success in Paris kicking off an unprecedented medal haul in London for our Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

The challenges keep coming though, and the focus for us now is to ensure that Go-Ride clubs are ready for the influx of newcomers to the sport. With this in mind, we are already looking ahead to the next four years and beyond, where we aim to ensure that cycling remains at the forefront of the sporting landscape, creating a lasting legacy from London 2012.

What is also clear is that we would not have been able to achieve the unprecedented levels of success without the unfaltering support of each and every Go-Ride volunteer, so I just want to thank you once again for all of your continued efforts on behalf of the sport.

Kind Regards

John Mills (Director for Coaching, Education and Development)
