Following another well-spent weekend with club volunteers at the Go-Ride Conferences, a further 30 clubs have signed up to our summer Go-Ride Games programme.

That brings the total to over 40 clubs already pledged to host a cycling event as part of our post-Olympic programme.

The weekend’s activity brought the total numbers of attending club volunteers to just shy of 250 with at least another 150 expected over the course of York and Manchester this Saturday and Sunday.

The Go-Ride Games
To maximise the legacy of London 2012, British Cycling is encouraging Go-Ride clubs nationwide to sign up to a summer festival of Go-Ride Games.

These exciting Olympic style events will offer inspired young participants a taste of competitive racing in the two weeks immediately after the games.

British Cycling will provide both practical resources and guidance to clubs who sign up to stage Go-Ride Games, as we look to ensure the next crop of racing cyclists are well catered for long after the Olympic flame has left the capital.

Olympic Tickets
Club volunteers who attend this year’s Go-Ride Conferences will automatically be entered into a prize draw for Olympic Cycling tickets.

12 pairs of tickets have been secured for the six conferences from a limited allocation of tickets received by British Cycling to distribute to Go-Ride club volunteers.

Through a combination of practical advice and support, the emphasis for this year’s Go-Ride Conference season is on ‘Gearing up for the Games’ to ensure that our schools and clubs are in the best possible position to cater for the increased enthusiasm created by the Games.

The Conferences are split in to three optional areas.
Workshop 1: The Young Volunteer Journey
Workshop 2: The Rider Journey
Workshop 3: The Club Journey
