Great Britain Olympic Development Programme rider Sam Lowe rode to an impressive second place on the opening stage of the Course de la Paix Juniors yesterday.

The first stage of the event, which is part of the UCI Juniors’ Nations Cup, took riders on a 100.2km route which started and finished in the Litomerice - Peace Square. In addition to Lowe, British rider Alex Peters came home twenty-second, current leader of the Junior National Road Series Tao Geoghegan Hart finished forty-eighth whilst Jonathan Dibben (80th), Germain Burton (84th) and Chris Lawless (91st) were also in action.
Friday will introduce riders to a 11.6km individual time trial in Trebenice in the morning before a new 76.6km stage in the afternoon, starting in Czech Lipa and finishing in Roudnice. The 41st edition of the race totals five stages and finishes on 6 May.
