Course director Graham Elliott has design a testing 5.5 mile circuit for the inaugural Thetford Cyclo-Cross Enduro. Although mainly based on fire roads, Graham has added some twisty sections that may break the field up a bit. These sections will take some skill to maintain top speed as, despite there being plenty of width to the course, there is a fast defined single track. In addition repair work to some of the fire roads has left short sections looking more like Belgian cobbles. The short stiff climb to the finish will sort out any bunch hangers on by the end of the first lap.

A feed station has been added to allow for the longer distance of this race which will be 3 hours for the senior, veterans, junior and women’s categories. There will be a double pit in line with normal cyclo-cross regulations.

The organisers have booked a transponder based judging system to cope with the inevitable bunching of riders and likely speed attained in this event.

Riders are reminded that the event is all entry in advance so that the judging system can be set up for the race.

Entries for the racing can be made via the British Cycling website listing

The Eastern Cyclo-Cross Association are organising the event to raise money for their successful youth development programme.
