Swindon Cycle Speedway Club is holding a 24hr event at its Oasis Leisure Centre venue on Saturday 7 January 2012 with the aim of raising funds to upgrade the club's facilities.

The event, which starts at 12 noon will primarily raise funds for Swindon's track, which is over 30 years old and badly needs resurfacing. At least one of Swindon's members will be on the track for the whole 24hr period, riding through the night in what might be freezing January conditions. The club is looking for companies or organizations to sponsor the event to raise funds for this essential work to be carried out and is in the process of approaching local companies to donate cash and prizes for a raffle during the day.
