Great Britain and Poole Pirates Speedway Manager Neil Middleditch was on hand at Harbourside Park to present the British Club Championship trophy to Poole Cycle Speedway.

It is the second year in succession that the club has won the prestigious title - fending off challenges from 21 other clubs. Poole finished on 128 points, 20 points clear of runners-up Leicester and third placed Horspath.

In order to compete in all seven rounds of the competition, Poole clocked up over 2,500 miles with the farthest venue being Hull for the U13 round. Appropriately it was the reserve rider from that team, Jay Briggs who received the trophy from Neil on behalf of the club. He travelled to Humberside and competed in just a single race

"Jay gave a perfect example of the commitment and enthusiasm of our club members," commented Racing Manager Colin Sutton. Having sampled a top Premier League match between Poole and Horspath and seen the work of the club with riders in all age groups, Neil was highly impressed with the Harbourside set-up and looked forward to his next visit.
