Variety is the spice of life for Jeff Young, at least when it comes to bike commuting. Jeff likes to mix it up on his everyday commute to First Bus in East London.

Tell us about your commuting rig: Either Gitane Rocks 1.4 MTB or Cannondale Quick 3 Hybrid

What’s your commute like? Tottenahm to Leyton - There are 15 variations of routes mixing road, towpath, track and field. I vary road, bike lane, park land, depending on weather and time of day. It varies from 5- 6 miles a trip 10 – 12 miles a day.

How many days a week do you commute by bike? Everyday 5-7 days a week

What do you enjoy the most about bike commuting? Being able to push at a cadence rate that keeps you breathless.

What’s your least favourite thing about commuting by bike? The constant rain over the last year

What are your main reasons to commute by bike? Fitness , time with my thoughts, and low cost of travel.

Have you got any funny or interesting bike commuting stories or experiences to share?

What’s your killer commuting tip? Have a good map in your head of your route and as many variants as possible to keep it interesting. Keep your bike properly clean.

Are you a British Cycling Member? If so how does your British Cycling membership support your bike commuting? Yes I am a member but I tend to do most of my riding solo still new still building fitness etc.
