When she's not collapsing into people's front gardens, Karen from Welwyn Garden City is commuting to work at Hertfordshire Constabulary HQ on her very exclusive Cinelli. We love the sound of her blue themed bike and are slightly in awe of her enigmatic one-word answer to our 'killer tip' question...

Tell us about your commuting rig: A fantastic black Cinelli Hoy Hoy Rats with blue Jagwire brake and gear cables – blue tyres. Blue Look pp256 pedals – plus front and rear Exposure Flash and Flare lights and Raleigh lights. I look like a Christmas tree!

What’s your commute like? Six miles all round but do vary to get a longer run up to ten miles – on road with some ascents and descents.

How many days a week do you commute by bike? Four days a week

What do you enjoy the most about bike commuting? Watching all the car drivers waiting in traffic as you sail past them!

What’s your least favourite thing about commuting by bike? Head wind!

What are your main reasons to commute by bike? Keep fit, save money and just for the love of it!

Have you got any funny or interesting bike commuting stories or experiences to share? Yes – couldn’t get foot out of my pedal in time and fell over into a bush in someone’s front garden with a whole bus full of people watching.

What’s your killer commuting tip? Cadence.
