BMX Regional Officials course - Saturday 28 January

A Regional Officials course has been arranged for Saturday 28 January at the Coombes Community Centre in Royston.

The course is aimed at individuals who would like to get more involved with the running of BMX events and is the first step on the ladder to becoming a national or even international official, working at European, world or even Olympic events.

This a regional based course and if you complete the course, the pre-test and the follow up work you will be qualified to officiate at regional events.

The course itself is a one day event 10.00am-5pm and covers five main areas.

  1. 1. Safeguarding and protecting children (Note - this part is not a formal course and can not be used as a qualification)
  2. 2. Communication
  3. 3. Administration and preparation
  4. 4. Technical - Bike, clothes, track etc
  5. 5. Competition

The tutor will be Phil Townsend. Tea, coffee and a light lunch will be provided and the day is free.
