Final preparations underway for new track at Cycle Show 2011

The Cycle Show organisers were in Birmingham earlier this week to finalise plans for the brand new, 1km Outdoor Mountain Bike Demo Track, which will be making its first ever appearance at the show this year.

The organisers of the Cycle Show have made their biggest investment to date in mountain biking this year, with 2011 seeing the introduction purpose built track, sponsored by Dare2b.

A first for the Cycle Show, it will offer a unique opportunity to test out the latest mountain bike range on a permanent track. The show will be open to the public at Birmingham's NEC between 30 September and 2 October this year, but the track will be staying for good, giving bike fanatics the opportunity to ride out on it all the time.

The start line for the Mountain Bike Demo track will be a mountain biker's paradise, with the opportunity for show visitors to ride some of the world's most desirable bikes on the new track.

The 1km track is designed to offer the best environment to show off your skills on the very latest mountain bike brands. The exhilarating 13-sector track will include table top jumps, flowing rock drops, low riders, cambered turns, bermed corners and a rolling/pump feature as well as a combination of fast flowing and technical sectors.

Andrew Brabazon, Event Director for the Cycle Show commented: "We're really excited to be delivering an outdoor track that will give visitors the opportunity to discover what the bikes they are riding are really capable of."

The Cycle Show 2011 is open to the public between Friday 30 September and Sunday 2 October at its new home at the NEC in Birmingham.

Advance tickets bought online are priced at just £12.50 for adults, £10.50 for concessions, £6.50 for children entry is free to under 5s. Special offers are available for advance group bookings.
