Glasgow becomes the sporting capital of Europe for two weeks in August for the first-ever multi-sport European Championships.

For the first time ever, track cycling, road cycling, mountain bike and BMX European championships will all take place at the same event – and there’s even swimming, gymnastics and much more happening too.

You can follow all the action from Glasgow with British Cycling – we’ll be bringing you exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of the Great Britain Cycling Team, sharing all the key moments.

Cycling in Glasgow begins in the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome with a strong British line-up competing for European honours.

Laura and Jason Kenny, Katie Archibald, Elinor Barker and many more will be taking to the boards from 2-7 August.

Heading out onto the streets of Glasgow, there are four road cycling medals up for grabs at the European Championships.

It’s the women’s turn on the roads first, with the road race on Sunday 5 August – could Dani Rowe continue her impressive season?

The time trials follow on Wednesday 8 August before the men’s road race brings the championships to a close on Sunday 12 August – with Mark Cavendish eyeing up another big win in his career.

Cathkin Braes will provide an impressive backdrop for the mountain biking at the European Championships, with two newly crowned British champions hoping to add another jersey to their growing collection.

Annie Last and Grant Ferguson will be representing Great Britain Cycling Team on Tuesday 7 August.

BMX

The fast and furious BMX riders will be in action in Glasgow on the 9 and 10 August – this is definitely one to watch.

Kyle Evans had an impressive outing at the recent UCI BMX World Championships – while Beth Shriever won an individual round of the world cup earlier this year. What can they and the rest of the team do at the European Championships?
